Everyone is entitled to enjoy travel!
I am proud to have recently received certification from Special Needs Group, Inc., a global provider of special needs equipment for the travel industry, to specialize in special needs/accessible travel. To earn this distinction, I particpated in Special Needs Group's in-depth online three module certification program.
Through the program, I was able to gain an understanding of the special needs/accessible travel market. I also learned about the best equipment to rent for special needs travel, ways to market special needs/accessible travel, and more.
Nationwide, one in seven persons has some form of disability, and one in five families is touched. By specializing in special needs/accesible travel, I have the ability to help this large percentage of the population travel in an enjoyable, safe and efficient manner.
My passion for this segment of the traveling population stems from my 20+ years of fundraising involvement with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. By meeting these courageous patients and their families, I saw first-hand some how some of the challenges of traveling could damper or hinder vacation fun.
Did you know that the special needs umbrella isn't limited to those with permanent disabilities or afflictions? Other people can be:
- Slow Walkers
- Families with Young Children
- Elderly
- Pre- and Post Surgery Patients
- Those with Occasional Mobility Conditions or Temporary Disabilities (ie. broken leg, sciatica)
