JOANNE'S TRAVEL LIST

Just about the time you're giving yourself a high five for being such a savvy world traveler, someone tells you about a magical place they've been to and, in an instant, you're back to reality and adding to your bucket list. Well at least that's the case for me.

Regardless, I still wanted to put a list together of everywhere I've traveled to just to see it on paper. Note: My definition of "been there" generally means I stayed there at least one night or a minimum of eight hours out of the airport or off the ship. For example, my cruise ship stopped at Nassau, Bahamas for an entire day of exploring. While I didn't stay overnight in Nassau, I certainly had time to tour around and experience its flavor.

So, here I go ...

Asia

  • Vietnam (the entire country including Halong Bay)
  • Thailand (Phuket only)

Europe

  • The Netherlands -- Amsterdam
  • Luxembourg (toured the entire country--it's small; stayed in Luxembourg City)
  • France -- Paris, Valance, Marseilles, Nice
  • Hungary -- Budapest
  • Danube River Cruise (multiple stops along the way including Salzburg, Austria; Regensburg & Nuremburg, Germany)
  • Czechia -- Prague
  • Ireland (southern half)

  • Portugal (Lisbon, Douro River, Porto)
  • Iceland (circumnavigation cruise)
  • Greece (Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, Thessaloniki, Nafplio)
  • Turkey (Kusadasi - Ephesus)

South America

  • Aguas Calientas, Peru (Machu Picchu)
  • Baranquilla, Columbia (10 hours in the airport under military "supervision," so it really doesn't count)
  • Cochabamba, Bolivia
  • Cuzco, Peru
  • Galapagos Islands and Quito, Ecuador
  • La Paz, Bolivia
  • Santa Cruz, Boliiva

Caribbean / Mexico

  • Mexico -- Cancun/Maya Rivera (multiple resorts) and Cozumel

  • California (nearly everywhere on the west coast)
  • Colorado (all over but also hosted a ski group for six years in Aspen/Snowmass)
  • District of Columbia (our U.S. capitol)
  • Florida (nearly everywhere and, more times than I want to admit)
  • Georgia (it's a peach)
  • Hawaii (four islands-I am a Hawaii Specialist and Oahu Master Specialist)
  • Illinois (my home state)
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Massachusetts
  • Michigan (from bottom to top)
  • Minnesota (lots of fishing)
  • Missouri

  • Tennessee
  • Texas (as the locals say "if you don't like Texas ... leave!")
  • Utah (Bryce and Zion Canyons)
  • Wisconsin (from Milwaukee to Minocqua and most everywhere in-between and beyond)
Canada
  • Niagara Falls, Ontario
  • Vancouver, British Columbia
Also, I've cruised on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity, Princess, MSC, Holland America, AMA Waterways, Windstar and Tauck.

I may have missed a couple of places, but if you're considering traveling to any of the locations, or anywhere else for that matter, give me a call to ask advice.

Bottom line ... Expand your horizons and experience life, no matter where your feet or heart take you.

Happy Travels! Joanne
